Organ Meat

Today has been a very chill day. We just hung around Nagoya a bit. Walked around the mall under the station and such.Everyday that I am here, it starts to feel a bit more like home, it is quite nice. Though a funny happened today. Today Chris and I had our first real meal without someone that knew the area or knew Japanese well with us. Of course the restaurant we walk into, specializes in bbq’ed organ meat. Thus, like men, we had us some organ meat for dinner.I am proud to report that, we were the first gaijin that have had organ meat at the restaurant. I didn’t take any photos of it unfortunately, however, it was pretty good. Though, my thought was “If I can’t identify it, it is cabbage”. It made it easier until I could start to identify the bits before I started to eat them.

Okay so you have to tell me: what is “gaijin”? Does it mean something like “whiteboy tourists”? && “If I can’t identify it, it is cabbage”- Great observation! I would have said ‘chicken’ myself, but close enough.
P.s. I love looking at all the pics!

James it is great that your are trying the local food. It is something that I made a point of no matter where I was or how disgusting I thought the food might be. It turns out things like cobra, raw duck, and various other things I would never think to try actually tasted pretty good. Although there were a lot of things that didn’t taste so good too. If you ever make it up here remind me to get you some prairie oysters to try.
